Clean Eating Shrimp Flatbread Pizza



Although clean eating is something I strive to do 90% of the time, I definitely am no perfect eater.  In fact, my mind is still dreaming about a plate of Philly Cheesesteak Nachos I had at a music festival a few weeks ago.  But I digress.  Currently, the hubby and I are in the middle of an Advocate 24 Day Challenge.  Translation: that 90% just got bumped up to a 99.9%.

After having amazing success with the 24 Day Challenge after having Baby E, I was very excited when Dan told me he wanted to do one together.  Now here I am each night trying to create new and exciting dishes that are both comforting and clean.  With that said, last night's dinner has easily become one of my new favorites.  So much so, I decided to take a page from the BuzzFeed book and make a video of my inspiring creation.

Just when I thought BuzzFeed could not get any more amazing, they went and outdid themselves with those amazingly mouth-watering recipe videos.  For months I have been unable to hop on Facebook without being bombarded with these quick clips of the most savory recipes imaginable.  Naturally, I decided I had to try it for myself (I apologize if the image is a bit grainy--this is my first try!).






Clean Eating Shrimp Flatbread Pizza

  • 1 lb shrimp (I used pre-cooked)
  • 1 package McCormick Grill Mates Baja Citrus Marinade
  • 2 Tandoor Baked Naan Flatbreads
  • 2 cups diced fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1 cup part-skim low-fat mozzarella shredded cheese
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers of any color
  • Basil for sprinkling
  • EVOO 


  1. Preheat oven to 400° F
  2. Brush flatbreads with water and bake for 2-3 minutes
  3. While bread is baking prepare marinade according to package directions
  4. Remove bread from oven and allow to cool
  5. Drizzle EVOO in pan over medium-high heat and cook shrimp in marinade (if using pre-cooked shrimp this should only take a few minutes) 
  6. Baste flatbreads in EVOO
  7. Cover flatbreads in cheese, diced tomatoes, peppers and shrimp
  8. Sprinkle with basil
  9. Bake flatbreads for 10 minutes, broil for the last few minutes to get an extra crispy finish
